I believe the challenges faced by our societies & communities over the coming years can only be met by a keen focus on sustainability at every level, whether personal, organisational, or societal. The methods and knowledge to create a sustainable, healthy, human-centric buildings and communities are already out there; they are not a mystery to us. We simply need to put them into practice. I’m interested in working with individuals, organisations, and developers who share this goal.

I have been fortunate enough to grow up and learn in communities, colleges, and universities that have embraced sustainable values. These have been a passion for many years, even before I started my current career in architecture and urban design. I was again lucky that the first practice I worked at (Hess Kincaid Leach) I was with a partner who was a pioneer of sustainable construction and materials, and continues to be to this day. Having recently taken the Passivhaus Designer Course exam, I soon hope to be a European certified Passivhaus Designer, and my work on the Saxonvale project in Frome allowed gave me a great leap forward in terms of my knowledge of sustainable transport, facilities, and housing in urban design.

I am also currently studying for both the BREAMM exam and the WELL building standard. In the meantime, I am looking to either be involved in or learn from projects or initiatives with the very best effective, minimalist sustainable credentials.

If you have an interest in sustainability, are running an organisation with these values, or are organising an event, I would love to hear from you.
